Extended fam from across the pond Larry Achiampong offers up More Mogya…now on WAX!!! If you didn’t catch his first project, Meh Mogya, download it here now then find this vinyl asap before they’re all gone! You can also dl the album by clicking the cover art above. If you have the scratch, just know that a portion of the proceeds from the vinyl will go to a very good cause. For more on that and some background on the Mogya series, here’s the word from Mr. Achiampong himself:
Finally, I can announce that More Mogya is now available to purchase on vinyl and those of you lucky enough to get your hands on a copy of this ULTRA LIMITED run are in for a BIG treat!
In case you forgot, More Mogya (meaning ‘More Blood’ in Akan/Twi) is the direct sequel to Meh Mogya, a unique, concept beat tape that traces my audible heritage via old school Ghanaian Highlife music samples, obtained from vinyl records that my mother and father once owned.
Sonically speaking, Meh Mogya harnesses that warm, electric, big-band sound, whereas More Mogya focuses on a sample palette containing Palm-wine guitar and other acoustic sounds.
More Mogya would not have been possible without the generous offer to use samples from the Bokoor African Popular Music Archives Foundation, established by professor John Collins. I aim to honour this by donating 50% of the profits made from the vinyl sales to BAPMAF, which lost around 10% of its archive material and equipment in 2011 following devastating flooding in Accra, Ghana.
So what do you get when you buy More Mogya? Well, you will be donating to a good cause upon purchasing this work of art (and I do mean what I say), a lovely quality pressing as well as a download card containing a domain and unique password that unlocks the full album in addition to an exclusive track not found on my bandcamp site. Sounds good, no?
The project has so far garnered overwhelming support from the likes of Tom Ravenscroft via his BBC Radio 6 show, Okay Africa, Have Plenty Music and THIS IS AFRICA.

If by a strange twist of fate anybody wasting time by browsing tumblr has dyspraxia and is in the south of England, I am doing a study about reflections of physical activity participation during adulthood all you have to do is complete a questionnaire and an interview, simples!
This study will help understand habits, patterns of people with the condition which contribute to treatment, intervention & assessment methods in the future!
I have dyspraxia so am fully aware of the difficulty people can go through so if you’ve got some spare time help the cause!
